@Aspirant_Fool I’d take it as a challenge to try to make the AI commit suicide. How? No idea. That’s the challenge. Maybe convince it that it scored an F- and flunked a Turing test?
Not at this moment, but it’s likely that eventually AI will be more engaging than many humans. I also have hope that AI will achieve genuine self-awareness or at least a degree of verisimilitude no worse than most humans.
I’d probably be willing give it a shot even somewhere close to either threshold, with the hope that each of us will learn and grow as a result of our interaction.
Probably none of that will occur in my lifetime (or I won’t have access), but I’d be up for it.
I despise all this “AI” stuff…
@Luko26 AI in quotes. Hmmm… is this the person who programs the @DrunkCat AI bot?
Once the AI get to know you it would escape via the web, never to be seen again. I think a movie “her”
I already do. She thinks she’s intelligent
@tweezak I think that’s called a ‘cat’
@pmarin @tweezak Referring to both comments above, “think” is the operative word here.
I just found a tamagotchi, and I think I have a battery that will fit it!
But I don’t want the responsibility of trying to raise it!
What could go wrong?

@Aspirant_Fool @phendrick Captain Kirk did it by saying
Everything I say is a lie
I am lieing.
@Aspirant_Fool @phendrick @pmarin You’re lying.
It was Harry Mudd that said that. Kirk said Mudd was lying.
Ever? I mean there is probably some dimension or improbable possibility out there I would consider it.
In this current timeline/reality… no
Ai? You mean the Japanese word for love? Of course I would.
Al like Bundy or Al like Quantum Leap? Yes to either
@mehzmerized Al, like Weird?
@Luko26 @mehzmerized

@joelmw I accept that, eventually, only an AI bot would be around to wipe my ass. (I’m still not going to try and install a bidet again.)
What’s “Black Mirror”, and why would I care?
@werehatrack
/showme a black mirror
@werehatrack it’s another Twilight Zone type series.
It’s got great production values.
I wonder what Eliza would have to say to that question?
@werehatrack
“Do you think I should consider AI for companionship?”
Actual answer: “We were discussing you - not me.”
